Voting Equipment

Spencer County uses the Microvote Infinity touch button voting panel for all its elections. The equipment purchased primarily with funds from the federal HAVA act with a smaller contribution from the county was first used in the May 2, 2006 Primary election. It was a great success and everyone found the panels very user-friendly.

You will find 2 to 8 machines at your polling location depending upon how many voters live in your precinct. There will also be 1 disability capable machine at each polling location allowing disabled voters to cast their vote in an independent manner. For many voters this will be the first time they have been able to do so.

If you would like to arrange a demonstration of the new voting equipment please contact the Voter Registration office at 649-6017.
